The race area is located in the same place where the 1977 Laser Worlds took place, and it is a course used by Flotilha 159 de Snipes (Snipe Fleet 159), the oldest Snipe fleet in Brazil.

For the english speaking comunity Campeonato Leste (E) Brasileiro is the regatta annually held in that place.
